Daniel´s grounded Superb
BACK TO OVERVIEWposted: 2016-11-14
Daniel Beck from Weißenburg in Bavaria, Germany had made up his mind way back in 2013 when deciding to buy an estate car from the VW camp. He went on to order a 170-hp white Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI.
So far so good. There it was: brand new and as tall as a bus. Daniel already knew what all modifications he wanted to carry out on his white machine.
First he replaced the production chassis with a G.A.S. Airride including shorter dampers on the front and rear axles, installing uni-ball strut bearings and modified rear axle wishbones all in one go, to guarantee that things were as low as it gets. The right driveshaft was exchanged for a divided and shorter shaft. The original front wings had to make place for the width-enhanced GFK wings. For this task, Mücke Carbon und Kunststofftechnik served as the right and competent partner. Similarly, the rear wheel arches lost their original shape, growing by one centimetre in width.
Except for the HG induction, the engine remained in its original state. Below the wings and side panels the Superb now rolls on the markedly concave 8.5x20’’ DOTZ Revvo ET 45 with 225/30 tyres. The Revvo has a sporty-delicate touch and meets an important criterion: weight reduction. The polished well in combination with the decorative screws gives a perfectly balanced rim look.
For enhancing some of the features Daniel got Peter Riedel and film brushing artists on board, giving them a free hand in choosing the designs, which resulted in the 59-style design.
The Superb gets to ride every day, but in November a Nissan Murano will take its place while the Superb spends the winter in a warm place until April.
Just like many other tuning fans Daniel will make use of the winter season by carrying out further modifications and implementing his ideas. We can’t wait to see the results!
